Residents In Chinto, Nsawam Rendered Homeless Over Demolition Exercise

Over 100 residents in Nsumia, Lantei, Chinto and its environs in the Eastern region have been displaced following a demolition exercise, the residents say was ordered by the court.

The demolition started last Friday after some elders of Nsumia had claimed the plots which the affected individuals were occupying belongs to them.

Many of the affected persons Monday morning besieged the Nsawam police station to express their anger about the incident.

However, during Friday’s demolition the regional police command directed some police officers to protect parts of Nsumia as the exercise is being carried out.
