Bogoso: Armed robber shot dead after attempting to escape

The Tarkwa Police in the Western Region on Friday gunned down one of the robbers who robbed Plat and Plume Gold Refinery Company of GHC900,000 at Bogoso and later killed a police officer, Lance Corporal Nicholas Duku

Friedrick Mensah alias “Cobby Nana”, was leading the police to a house where some of the stolen money was allegedly being kept, but bolted when they got to the scene. The police had no option than to kill him.



He was later rushed to the Tarkwa Government Hospital but died upon arrival. The Tarkwa crime Officer, Supt. Kwabena Gyaben confirmed the news to Atinka News

Cobby Nana was among four suspects who robbed the company of GH¢900,000 and later killed a police officer on 29th April 2018.

The four suspects are Fredrick Mensah, alias Nana One, 32; Mohammed Dawuda, 32; Bismarck Opoku, 34, and Charles Kwasi, alias Yaw Lee, 30.

Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed that they allegedly said they shared GH¢450,000 out of the GHC900,000.
