Man Utd news: Zlatan Ibrahimovic sends FA Cup warning to Jose Mourinho

JOSE MOURINHO must win the FA Cup with Manchester United this season, according to former star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Portuguese coach hasn’t enjoyed the best of seasons at the Red Devils.

Despite sitting second in the Premier League, United have conceded defeat to neighbours Manchester City in the title race.

And Mourinho’s men were also knocked out of the Champions League by Sevilla in the last 16.

But United will be hopeful of salvaging their campaign by beating Tottenham in the FA Cup semi-finals this month, before going on to lift the trophy at Wembley in May.

Ibrahimovic won’t be part of any potential success after he secured his move to MLS outfit LA Galaxy in March.



But the Swede insists United must win the piece of silverware this season to ensure they remain a big club.
“They’ve been doing it good,” Ibrahimovic told ESPN FC.

“Let’s hope, there’s one last trophy to play for, and that’s the FA Cup.

“So hopefully they win it.

“Last year we had a big success with the three trophies.

“With a new team like that – new coach, couple of new players – and hopefully that rings on, because as a top team, like United, you need to keep winning, because that is the status of the club.

“You need to win. And if you’re not winning, you’re not belonging to the top.”
Ibrahimovic was also quick to praise Mourinho for making him feel welcome during his time at Old Trafford.
“I like Mourinho. He is the Special One,” he added.

“He likes to win. Wherever he went he won.

“He made me feel comfortable. He gave me a lot of responsibility.

“He said to me the only problem he had with me was when could he rest me.”

Ibrahimovic scored two goals on his LA Galaxy debut as the American outfit beat rivals LAFC 4-3.
