Cristiano Ronaldo: Real Madrid star issued Lionel Messi request after Juventus brace

CRISTIANO RONALDO reportedly told Real Madrid to offer him a salary akin to Lionel Messi’s after his Champions League brace against Juventus last night.
Ronaldo starred for Real Madrid as they put Juventus to the sword and took control of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

The 33-year-old took his goal tally in 2018 to 24 from just 14 matches with a sublime brace, with his second goal already being heralded as one of the best strikes of all time.

Cristiano Ronaldo has rediscovered his best form for Real after initially struggling and Spanish outlet Don Balon claim he issued a demand after the game.

It is an open secret the Portugal international is determined to earn a contract extension.

Ronaldo only signed a new deal in November 2016 but, since then, he has scaled new heights.
The former Manchester United star delivered them a first La Liga title since 2012 last season.

And he also helped them become the first club to retain the Champions League in its modern format. Juventus, again, were on the receiving end that day.

Ronaldo wants a new deal because of Barcelona’s Messi, who earns a huge £500,000 a week.

And Don Balon say he told the Madrid board that he wants pay parity with the Argentinean after his Juventus heroics.

Meanwhile, Juventus manager Max Allegri praised Ronaldo after the match – and also lauded fans of the Serie A giants for giving the Real star a standing ovation.
“I don’t know if Ronaldo’s goal is the best in football history,” he said.

“But it’s really an extraordinary goal. You can only congratulate him on what he’s doing at present.

“The applause is a beautiful lesson from the Juventus fans to the whole world.

“Football is a show. When you have 22 high-level players and you see a shot like this one it’s good to applaud.”
