COALITION FOR GHANA’S SOVEREIGNTY (CGS) AND TEIN PUBLIC LECTURE

PRESS RELEASE
COALITION FOR GHANA’S SOVEREIGNTY (CGS) AND TEIN PUBLIC LECTURE
As part of our efforts to critically assess the ramifications and implications of the US-Ghana Military Base Agreement deal, the Coalition for Ghana’s Sovereignty (CGS) and GREATER ACCRA REGIONAL TEIN have taken steps to organize a public lecture in response to the various positions taken by Ghanaians on the recent US-Ghana Military Base Agreement, which is fostering division and does not engender national cohesion.
To this effect, we wish to use this lecture to educate the Ghanaian with respect to our sovereignty and Future, vis-a-vis the agreement and proffer suggestions to make Ghana have a better deal.
The following distinguished resource persons have accepted to be the speakers for the lecture to educate Ghanaians especially those directly involved in negotiating this deal for Ghana. They are as follows with their accompanying topics:
1. Dr Kwesi Anning: Director, Faculty of Academic Affairs and Research, KAIPTC, Ghana Armed Forces
Topic: Security Implications of the agreement

2. Hon James Agalga: Ranking Member on Defense and MP for Builsa North
Topic: Political Impact of the Agreement

3. Mr Kwesi Pratt Jnr: Managing Editor of The Insight Newspaper and seasoned Journalist
Topic: The Social Impact of the Defense Compact Agreement

4. Mr Bernard Ambataayele Mornah: Chairman, PNC and Research Fellow at the IPA
Topic: Economic Impact of the Agreement
Venue: Accra Technical University
Date: 10th April, 2018 (Tuesday)
Time: 3:00pm
We want to add that our politicians seeking high offices ought to be thinking more about policies to promote the peoples’ development needs rather than just seeking to please foreign powers for dubious farthing. It was insulting to hear the American ambassador stressing the financial worth of the deal. Ghana’s sovereignty shouldn’t be for sale to anybody whatsoever, for any amount of money. Nana Addo and the NPP are simply outmoded in thoughts and don’t feel a stakeholder in the affairs of this country beyond 10years: their decisions are all shortsighted.
We entreat all Ghanaians to come listen and be well informed on the facts.

See you there as we talk about OUR FUTURE!!!
Best wishes
Signed,
David Kumi Ado
