Man Utd transfer news: Jose Mourinho has one worry about signing PSG star Marco Verratti

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho reportedly has one concern about signing PSG bulldozer Marco Verratti.
Manchester United want PSG star Verratti to help coax the best out of Paul Pogba next season.

The Red Devils are losing Michael Carrick in the summer, with the England international retiring, and Mourinho is hunting reinforcements.

The club are already well-stocked in midfield with Pogba, Ander Herrera, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay and Marouane Fellaini on their books.

However, Express Sport understands Fellaini is primed to leave on a free transfer, while Herrera’s future is also far from certain.

Verratti is a popular player at PSG and key to Unai Emery’s side.

And the Manchester Evening News say the Ligue 1 giants could yet keep the Manchester United target out of Mourinho’s grasp.
It is said the 54-year-old does have an interest in the Italy international.

Talk of a move first arose last summer, prior to United’s deal for Matic, who arrived from Chelsea.

He is also represented by Mino Raiola, who has influenced Red Devil transfers for Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Romelu Lukaku and Sergio Romero in recent years.

The MEN say, however, he could be too costly.

United boss Mourinho wants to launch a huge summer spending spree to close the gap on Manchester City.
Yet Verratti may cost as much as £100million, a fee that was quoted last summer.

Speaking in February, though, the player admitted he was in the dark over his long-term future at PSG.

“I don’t know, I am happy here in Paris,” he said.

“I believe in this project and I hope to stay here long.

“Maybe PSG will sell me but let’s see.”
