Jose Mourinho watches Usain Bolt in action as star’s Man Utd dream gets real

USAIN BOLT took another step to to realising his dream of becoming a Manchester United player after being coached by Jose Mourinho in the Hublot Match of Friendship.

Retired Olympic champion Bolt mixed it with the likes of Marcel Desailly, Patrick Kluivert and Christian Karembeu in Basel, Switzerland – under the watchful eye of the Special One.

The event saw two teams packed with talent battle it out on a mini pitch, with Bolt chosen on Mourinho’s team.

The other – managed by Argentine legend Diego Maradona – included icons such as David Trezeguet, Marco Materazzi, Roberto Carlos, Angelo Peruzzi and Hernan Crespo.
Finding themselves behind in the second half, Maradona pulled on his boots and could not resist showing his tiring charges how it was done.

Mourinho looked more than happy doing his talking from the sidelines.

And it was the Manchester United manager’s team who narrowly edged the contest with Bolt the name on most viewers lips come the trophy presentation.
Bolt admitted he was over the moon with his performance, saying: “For me it was wonderful. You can see their skills and it was a fun time, I’m happy to be here.

“It’s not easy! It’s all about movement but it was fun, the start of something great.”

Mourinho added: “When I listen to him speaking about football, I thought it was more a funny thing, a kid’s desire, a kid’s dream but I think not at all.
“Maybe football lost a talent to athletics.”

Bolt, who has publicly stated his love for the Red Devils on numerous occasions, has already secured a chance to play on the turf at Old Trafford this summer.

The 100m world record holder has signed up for Soccer Aid in June, leading a World XI team against Robbie Williams’ England.
The friendly match will take place at Old Trafford on Sunday 10 June, just four days before the World Cup in Russia begins.

Bolt will lead the World XI with Williams taking charge of the England XI.

“It is my dream to make it as a professional footballer, so to be able to step out onto the pitch at Old Trafford in June, and play against some of football’s biggest legends is going to be remarkable,” Bolt said.
