Kante: Chelsea Is My Home

N’Golo Kante has appeared to confirm that he will stay at Chelsea for the foreseeable future, insisting that the club is his “home”.

Kante, who joined the Blues in 2016 after helping Leicester City to their improbable Premier League title triumph, has been linked with a move to big-spending PSG in his homeland of France.

However, he has now insisted that he is solely focused on helping the Blues achieve their goals this season.

Antonio Conte’s side, while out of the title race, can qualify for the Champions League through the top four, and are also set to play Southampton in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

“I am at home. It is my club, I am a Chelsea player,” Kante told Football Focus, via the London Evening Standard .

“This is my second year at Chelsea. After what happened last season, it was a very good one for us because we got to celebrate winning the title.

“In the second season, I have got to play in the Champions League and we are going again to finish in the top four.

“We will fight until the end to finish in the top four and to get in a Champions League position.

“We also have the FA Cup to play for – it is a good competition. Last season we failed in the final. It is the only trophy we can win this season, so we have to give everything to get to the final and win it.”

Kante has three years remaining on his current Chelsea deal, and has been indispensable so far this season.

The 26-year-old has made 26 Premier League appearances this season, only missing out on four occasions due to injury, though he has been routinely rested in the FA Cup, with Conte omitting him from the squad for games against Norwich and Hull City.
