Shatta Wale’s manager reveals Ebony’s secret

Boss of Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah, who recently signed Ghanaian dancehall star, Shatta Wale, for a whopping US$1.5 million, has revealed that two days before Ebony Reigns’ tragic death, she had asked him to ‘pay off’ Bullet, her current manager, so she could join Zylofon Media and be free.

The Zylofon boss disclosed this in a tweet eulogizing the artiste, who lost her life in a gory accident last Thursday.

Nana Appiah Mensah’s tweet said, “We had a fruitful meeting and reached an Agreement just last Tuesday.”

Please help me pay him for my bailout. I want to be free”. I hope you’re free now & find absolute peace in the bosom of the almighty God. Let’s pay CRITICAL ATTENTION to our female artists”.

Ebony lost her life while travelling from the Brong Ahafo region to the Greater Accra region, where she was expected to embark on a European tour to perform, beginning at the Belgium edition of Ghana Meets Naija.

Meanwhile, manager of the late sensational singer, Ebony Reigns, has finally broken his silence after the tragic death of the musician.

The CEO of Ruff Town Records/Midas Touch Inc., Bullet who is known in real life as Ricky Nana Agyemang, refuted claims that the artiste and her management team, ignored several prophecies about her death.

According to him, the artiste and her team diligently followed directions given them by a renowned sound engineer, Kaywa, who was one of the several people to predict her demise.

Kaywa also prayed for them, all in an effort to cancel the ‘prophecies of doom’ about the “Maame Hw3” hitmaker.
Ebony was confirmed dead upon arrival at the Bechem Government Hospital after being involved in a ghastly accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road.

Ebony who was returning from Sunyani after visiting her mother and other family members, was purportedly in the company of a military officer, Atsu Vondee who is said to be her bodyguard and a young lady, Franky Kuri, in a Jeep with registration number AS 497—16.

The driver of the Jeep survived the crash.

Her heartbroken mother is inconsolable, following the sudden demise of her daughter.

Madam Beatrice Oppong, is traumatized and shocked. Her girl had said goodbye to her in a hurry to return to Accra to enable her travel, the next day.

“I just returned from the UK, so I gave her all the things I bought for her, only to hear she is dead,” she bemoaned.

Her distraught mother in an exclusive interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem last Friday said she felt something would go wrong, so she persuaded her daughter to stay.

“I told my daughter to spend the night with me, but she was so much in a hurry to return to Accra, so she did not even finish the jollof rice I cooked for her. Oh!!! I have lost my queen” she stressed.

Aunty B as she is affectionately called, bid her daughter farewell and called on God to have mercy on her soul.

Ebony’s father, Nana Opoku Kwarteng, has paid tribute to his late daughter, describing her as a splendid personality with a unique talent.

Nana Opoku, who last spoke to Ebony on Wednesday, learned of the death of his 20-year-old daughter around 4:00 am Thursday morning.

“If I should describe my girl, I’ll say she was amazing, splendid, so unique. Ghana is going to find it tough to find someone like this pretty queen,” he said to Citi FM Kwame Dadzie.

Nana Opoku, recalled his support for Ebony’s music career, despite the criticism that came her way for her salacious persona and fashion sense.

“I have always supported this queen that was her talent. She had nothing to lose. I supported her all the time. I have always supported my queen… she had it all. Honestly, she did.”

On his daughter’s trip to Sunyani, Nana Opoku noted that “she [Ebony] said she was going to see her mom. Her mom had returned from the UK and she needed to see her. I said okay and that was it.”

He is yet to speak to any of Ebony’s family in Sunyani, as he indicated that he was not in the right state of mind to even pick phone calls.

“…My mood would not permit me to do so [pick up phone calls]. I have someone here who responds to any call I receive.”
