Liverpool target Marco Asensio tells Real Madrid he’s leaving – report

MARCO ASENSIO has told Real Madrid he wants to leave.
The Spain international is out of favour under Zinedine Zidane and has not started a league fixture since the start of December.

According to Diario Gol, he is fed up by his limited opportunities and has alerted a number of clubs about his desire to move.

Liverpool have been credited with an interest in Asensio.

Anfield bosses reportedly fancy the attacking midfielder as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho.

But they face competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

It’s claimed the Blues are monitoring Asensio as a potential replacement for Hazard, who is wanted by Real Madrid.

Asensio warned Bernabeu bosses he will firm up his desire to leave if he is not handed more minutes on the pitch.
But Diario Gol claim president Florentino Perez has attempted to smooth over the situation.

Perez has reportedly assured Asensio that he will be a key part of the team next season because he plans to dismantle the BBC attacking triumvirate of Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Asensio’s concerns have been eased for the time being and will reportedly reassess the situation in June.

Meanwhile, reports in Spain suggest Real Madrid have told Chelsea they will only be able to sign Asensio if Eden Hazard is included in any deal.
