49 years tithing has not improved my life – Maurice Ampaw

Outspoken Ghanaian Lawyer, Maurice Ampaw has said for his forty-nine (49 years) of paying tithe, he has not experienced any unusual progress in his life.

The controversial lawyer who was commenting on the refusal by a section of the public to pay the Tv licence, said he has been consistent in paying his tithe to his church.

According to the celebrity lawyer, he’ll nonetheless stop paying his tithe but hopes to see an extraordinary breakthrough some day.

“You don’t expect to see the benefits of what you have invested or paid for immediately, it takes time. I have attended church service and for my 49 years of paying tithe, I’ve not seen anything or improvement in life. I have given offering and fasted for about 10 years when my wife was unable to conceive but I didn’t stop paying offering and tithe.” Lawyer Ampaw said on Zylofon FM.

Other renowned personalities like Council of State member, Sam Okudzeto has also added his voice to the debate on payment of tithe.

Lawyer Okudzeto openly slammed some pastors for using the Bible to dupe members of their money, all in the name of tithing.

According to him, tithing in the church has now become exploitation, with pastors using certain quotations in the Bible to cover up their dubious dealings. He went on to state that most men of God misquote certain verses in the bible, including Malachi 3:10, to “blackmail” their members to give out their money as tithe.
