Wednesday January 3

Luiz transfer claim
08:38: Chelsea defender David Luiz will NOT sign for Arsenal because Arsene Wenger is yet to wake up and smell the coffee.

That’s according to former Gunners forward Charlie Nicholas, who’s taken a swipe at Per Mertesacker.

“I can’t see Arsenal signing him [Luiz] because Wenger doesn’t see the picture and still thinks Per Mertesacker can do a job,” he told Sky Sports.

Nicholas also claimed none of Arsenal’s defenders are better than Chelsea’s.

Hazard, Kante wanted
07:45: Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has his eye on Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante, according to reports.

Belgium winger Hazard has long been linked with a Bernabeu switch as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Kante, meanwhile, could replace Real stalwart Modric in the heart of Zidane’s midfield.

El Confidencial now claim Zidane has asked Florentino Perez to sign Hazard and Kante for him.
Conte to stun Man Utd
06:50: Antonio Conte wants to snatch Juventus defender Alex Sandro from under Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho’s nose.
That’s according to the Mirror, who suggest the Chelsea swoop could see the Red Devils target Danny Rose instead.

Sandro was heavily linked with a Stamford Bridge switch over the summer but Juventus refused to sell.

A £50m bid is set to go in now though and that may mean Mourinho has to go for his second-choice, Tottenham ace Rose.

Ronaldo open to move
06:00: Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly open to joining Chelsea as he eyes a Premier League return.

The Portugal international has been tipped to head back to England after growing unhappy in the Madrid.

And a Manchester United return has been hotly-tipped following his successful six-year stint there.

Diario Gol claim Chelsea are also in the frame should Ronaldo quit the Bernabeu though.

Reports last weekend suggested the 32-year-old is looking at properties in Surrey and central London.
