Tarkoradi MP joins street masquerades dance around town

Member of Parliament (MP) for Takoradi, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, actualised what is meant by grassroots participation when he took part in a festive activity of his people

The lawmaker surprised many of his constituents after taking to the streets to celebrate Christmas in a rather awkward way.

Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah marked the festive season by teaming up with masquerades to dance around the streets of Takoradi.




Masquerading is a common form of celebration among the people and its seen during festive periods as this.

The MP, dressed in a unique attire, joyfully joined them in the show, leaving many of his constituents shocked and amused in equal measure dancing and singing to music being played.

They sang and danced to the cheer of a rousing crowd to happily mark the occasion much to the delight of many who stormed the area to see their legislator.

Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah was elected MP for the Takoradi constituency during the 2016 elections after beating his other competitors by a huge margin to retain the seat for the governing NPP.

The lawmaker appears to have a strong bond with his constituents and preferred not to be left out during the Christmas celebrations.
