Ballon d’Or 2017: 30-man shortlist in full – will anyone beat Ronaldo or Messi?

THE winner of the 2017 Ballon d’Or will be announced on Thursday, but which superstar player are on the shortlist?
The prestigious award has been won by the Real Madrid superstar or Barcelona ace Lionel Messi for the past nine years.

After winning the FIFA’s ‘The Best’ award last month, Cristiano Ronaldo is favourite to take the crown for a second year running.




Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Antoine Griezmann form the chasing pack, while representatives from the Premier League include Liverpool duo Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane along with Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

The award winner will be named by France Football on 6th December, though there won’t be a traditional gala to celebrate the winner’s achievement.

How will the Ballon d’Or winner be announced?

The winner of the 62nd Ballon d’Or award will be broadcast on a dedicated television programme presented by David Ginola.

It will be shown at 6.45pm UK time and will be broadcast on L’Equipe.
