Jose Mourinho: Paul Pogba’s injury as bad as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo

PAUL POGBA’s injury is as bad as those suffered by long-term absentees by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo, claims Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.
Pogba is out with hamstring and thigh problems picked up in the 3-0 win over Basel earlier this month.

United have endured a number of long-term injury lay offs in recent months, with Ibrahimovic and Rojo still working on returning to full fitness.

Phil Jones and Antonio Valencia have also come back from injuries, although quicker than expected.

There was hope Pogba’s injury wouldn’t be as severe as first thought.

But Mourinho admits the France international is facing some time on the sidelines.

“Pogba cannot play tomorrow (against Crystal Palace) and it’s not an injury that I can have the hope with Valencia or Jones,” Mourinho said.
“Long term injuries I don’t speak about them, Ibra, Pogba and Rojo.”

United host Palace tomorrow (3pm) hoping to take up top spot in the Premier League.

Mourinho kept a number of players back when United travelled to CSKA Moscow in the Champions League in midweek.
Discussing his side’s fitness woes, the boss added: “We have to train and make decisions after training but I hope some of the players that couldn’t play in Moscow maybe not all of them but hopefully some can recover.

“Tomorrow some will be out after all the injuries we had I hope that I can have some players available tomorrow.”
