MTN pays homage to Asogli state ahead of Yam festival climax

Telecom giant, MTN has extended its felicitations and support to the chiefs and people of Asogli traditional state, in the Ho municipality as they climax their annual Yam festival this weekend.
Some Managers of the telecom were at the Asogli state palace at Ho Bankoe on Friday in to show respect to the Agbogbomefia, Togbe Afede XIV, who sat in state to receive homage from individuals and institutions.
Prince Nyarko, a senior manager at MTN, in his address affirmed MTN’s commitment to the promotion Ghanaian culture and the African heritage.
“As an African multinational company, MTN recognizes the important role festivals play in reconciling families, communities and promoting activities which enables development in our society,” he added.




As part of its continuous support towards the Asogli Yam festival celebration, the company presented a cheque of Ghc15, 000, Ghc1, 000 worth of airtime, drinks hamper worth Ghc1, 000 and other souvenirs.
MTN also organized a mega street carnival as part of activities to light up the festival, which is being climaxed on Saturday with a grand durbar at the Ho Jubilee Park.
The 3-week long celebration, which was on the theme, ‘The role of tradition and culture in Governance and Development’ has attracted a lot of revelers to the Volta regional capital, with high profile personalities expected to grace the durbar.
