Alexis Sanchez tells Arsenal he wants to join Manchester City in £47m deal – report

ALEXIS SANCHEZ has told Arsenal he wants to join Manchester City, according to reports in Chile.
Sanchez has been coy about his Arsenal future but recently revealed he has made a decision on his next step.
Arsenal want their star striker to sign a new contract, with his current deal expiring next summer.

But Chilean newspaper El Mercurio claim Sanchez is not interested.

According to the report, Sanchez wants to be reunited with his former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.
He is also keen to link up with Chile goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, who joined Barca the summer Sanchez left for Arsenal.




The Gunners signed Alexandre Lacazette on Wednesday – a deal that some believe could spell the end of Sanchez’s stint in north London.

But Arsenal hope their willingness to spend a club-record fee on Ligue 1 star Lacazette will convince Sanchez to remain and battle for trophies next term.
El Mercurio claim City have offered £47million for the 28-year-old.

The draw of playing in the Champions League is also said to have convinced Sanchez that remaining at Arsenal, who will compete in the Europa League next term, is not in his best interests.
