Akufo-Addo government most corrupt – A.B.A Fuseini

Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu in the Northern Region, Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini has described the ruling government as “greedy, selfish, and corrupt” in wake of the sale of some 5 million liters of contaminated fuel to unlicensed companies.

According him, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), which promised to fight corruption while in opposition, is now engulfed with several allegations of corruption.

“We have come to the stage where people are now protecting their private interest as against protecting the interest of the state. This is very surprising.”
“Do you remember the Otiko and Bugri Naabu issue; the Savenlugu and Walewale DCEs who are alleged to have given some monies to assembly members to vote for them? It’s now BOST. What surprises me is the moral society which often speaks against issues of this nature. They have all gone silent”, he said.




Reports indicate that the Chief Executive Officer of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST) Limited, Alfred Obeng Boateng, signed a dubious deal and sold about 5 million liters of contaminated fuel to Movenpiina Energy and Zup Oil at a discount of GHc.1 which many believe could result in revenue losses of about GHC 7 million to the states.

Speaking on Alhaji and Alhaji, a current affairs program on Radio Gold, Mr. A.B.A Fuseini insisted the NPP government has demonstrated they are not prepared to fight corruption.

“What happens at BOST is pure corruption, because Movenpiina is not licensed by NPA to operate yet they were given oil to sell,” he observed.

Although the Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, has constituted an eight-member committee to investigate the controversy, some think tanks as well as the Minority in the Parliament are asking the CEO of BOST, Alfred Obeng Boateng to step aside for independent investigation to be conducted.
