A/R: ‘Soldiers’ attack residents in Tontokrom

Some persons suspected to be personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces have reportedly attacked residents of Tontokrom in the Amansie West district of the Ashanti region.
The purported soldiers according to eyewitnesses reportedly stormed the community around 10pm Sunday evening heavily armed and started attacking residents.
Scores of residents are reported to have sustained life threatening injuries.
A resident and an eyewitness narrating the incident to Starr News said two people are currently fighting for their lives.




He added that most of the residents have fled into nearby bushes while some were taken by the men in military uniform.
Meanwhile, the Public Affairs Director of the Ghana Armed Forces Col. Aggrey Quarshie in an interview with Ultimate FM said the military is unaware of any incident in Tontokrom.
According to him, the military has not sanctioned any operation adding that investigations will commence to ascertain the veracity of the reports.
