Time, my frienemy

Time, my frienemy

There she was wishing it was her before the crowd, the star of the day, owning it as they stand and applaud her. There she was like the salve who enjoys in his sleep the imaginary freedom and fears of being awakened when he suspect his liberty is no more but a dream.
The tale of two girls began as they both set off on a lifelong journey with the hope of making their dream a reality. And as fate will have it, great opportunity presented itself. One of the girls saw and embraced the opportunity that came her way; she knew her limitations, accepted them but never allowed it get to her, instead, she worked on them and improved upon them.
The other girl constantly gave excuses as to why she could not do something, focusing so much on her limitations instead of making the best out of the opportunity at hand.

So much time did pass her by while she slept; dreaming though it was day to make it a reality and now there she was, wishing it was her who owned that company, the star of the day, standing on that stage before the crowd giving that speech.
Time will never stop just because you are tired and need a break. It’s always ticking irrespective of your excuses or reason to stop. It’s true we all have different races to run but I believe the most important thing is time and the will to finish your race rather than walking off the track. Even if you have no chance of winning, continue to the finish line that way you will earn a position be it first or last rather than being disqualified with nothing.
Time can be a friend if you love and respect it and can also be an enemy if you do otherwise. It’s your call, what will it be?
