Akufo-Addo, Mahama, Bawumia extol mothers

Leading Ghanaian personalities including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo have extoled their wives and mothers for their contribution to family upbringing and nation building.
The world is marking Mothers’ Day today May 14, 2017 to recognize the role mothers play in our lives.
President Akufo-Addo, his vice Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and former president John Mahama took to their various social media handles to congratulate mothers:

Meanwhile, the First Lady Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo is rallying all well-meaning Ghanaians to join her campaign to end “needless deaths of mothers” in labour, especially at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

“As we celebrate mothers’ day, I wish to remind all Ghanaians of the needless deaths of mothers and children at the Komfo Anokye Hospital. No woman should die giving life to another and no mother should lose a child she has carried for nine months,” the first lady said in a statement to mark the day.

The Second Lady Samira Bawumia also took to Facebook to wish mothers including the First Lady well:
