Stranger

Stranger

She said she will be gone for a moment
Only for a moment
So here I am waiting
Waiting on her return
Her laughter so loud and infectious
Her cheerful spirit compared to none
Yet her heart bled
I sat as I watch her drink her pain away
Yet did or said nothing
She walked right pass me and said
Be back in a moment
Just for a moment

And in a moment she was gone
A hit from the track made of her
As her lifeless body dragged to the side
In my mind, a trailed thought
On and on in my cries
I longed for that moment
So I could tell her ….
And ask of her name
Maybe then she won’t have drunk herself to death
And maybe then we would have been friends.
There I was waiting on your return
Oh stranger.
